This Date in Jets History: September 21st

1997 was an interesting year for the Jets. Coming off a 1-15 debacle expectations were not high. New coach Bill Parcells was attempting to change the fate of the franchise. A week four match-up against the Raiders at the Meadowlands would be a great way to do it. The Jets were able to pull it out with a Ray Mickens blocked field goal late in the game. The win started a stretch in which the Jets won 5 out of 6 games and put themselves in position for their first playoff appearance since 1991.
