Jets Receive More Poor Injury News

After dropping Monday night’s game for their second straight home loss the last thing the Jets needed was more bad news. Things are crumbling quickly and the injuries are not helping. Already having lost 2 of their best players in Revis and Holmes, the Jets now get the news that Kenrick Ellis, and Josh Mauga can be added to the list. Mauga a reserve linebacker who sees a lot of snaps with the declining Bart Scott on the roster is out with a torn Pectoral. This will give third round pick Demario Davis a chance to show what he has to offer. Kenrick Ellis is going to be out for at least 4 weeks with a knee issue. This is a crushing blow to a Jets run defense that is already hurting. With Ellis out and starter Sione Pouha sinelined with an injury the Jets are going to have to turn to undrafted rookie Ramon Harrison at nose tackle.

Nick Mangold, Clyde Gates, and Stephen Hill all have their status up in the air. Obviously the most important player in this group is Nick Mangold. If Mangold is out for any time period the Jets are in serious trouble. The good news with Mangold is that he was injured Monday night and was able to come back into the game. As for Clyde Gates and Stephen Hill, if both of these guys are out Sunday the Jets might be holding open tryouts in the MetLife stadium parking lot before kickoff at 1 pm.

There was a bit of good injury news that came from practice Wednesday. Dustin Keller looks as though he will be ready to go come Sunday. Oh you forgot who that is, yeah me too. That would be Mark Sanchez’s favorite target, so hopefully he can make a difference in the passing game.
